* About this *
The Power of OPEN is a collection of success stories that of who believed in the value of sharing, and cases that applied Creative Commons Licenses to their platforms in various fields such as culture, art, scholarship, media, publication, and technology.

Creative Commons began to distribute Creative Commons Licenses (CCL) for free sharing of contents from approximately 10 years ago. CCL is a free license that supplements copyright in the existing copyright system to be more applicable for the time of digital age. Over 4 hundred million contents including music, photography, video, science journals, and educational resources are distributed under CCL.

Individuals and government are effectively sharing their knowledge, art, and data through CCL, and many experts in various areas are producing numerous innovative results through collaboration in this commons ecosystem.

June Cohen, executive producer of world-widely well-known TED Talks,
Nina Paley, director of the film distributed with CCL Sita Sings the Blues,
Scott Klein, chief editor of 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative news organization “Propublica,”
Joao Batista Ciaco, PR director of a car company “Fiat” who applied CCL to concept car designing,
Pierre Gereard, co-founder of the international music CC platform “Jamendo,”
and many more people who are changing their life and the world with CC share their experiences.

This book is originally published by Creative Commons, translated by CC Korea volunteers, and developed into an e-book app by Dunamu.
